One of the first Bremer Co. men to die in the Civil War.
This man enlisted under Capt. W. V. Lucas and got as far as Davenport Ia. where he died shortly afterwards of pneumonia being one of if not the first Bremer Co. soldier to die in service during the civil war. Body was returned to Denver Ia. where burial was made in the Messinger Cemetery one mile south of town where many of the early Pioneers of Bremer Co. are Buried.
