WAVERLY — Frederick Ernest Hanson, 89, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Linn Haven Rehab and Healthcare Center, New Hampton, of natural causes.
He was born Oct. 2, 1926, in Waterloo, son of Fred and Margaret Hanson. He married Darlene Marter in 1951; they divorced in 1964. He married Pearl Baldwin on Sept. 14, 1985.
Fred retired from Rath Packing Co. in 1984.
Survived by: his wife; a son, Wayne of Waterloo; two daughters, Glenda Hanson of Waterloo and Toni Gutierrez of Corona, Calif.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grand children; three brothers, Herbert of Spencer, Donald of Waterloo, and Charles of Kennewick, Wash.; and two sisters, Agnes Mitchell and Hazel Leonard, both of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Lester; and three sisters, Margaret, Alberta and Vivian.
Celebration of Life: 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Evansdale AMVETS, 706 Colleen Ave., Evansdale.
