Farmed at home of father and went in Waverly Draft Aug 6, 1918 from Camp Dodge wen to Texas on the way from Tex to the coast his troop train was wrecked went over seas Sept. 25-1918 and landed at Brest Oct 10 in France.
Died of Pheumonia Oct. 16 Body returned to U.S. and buried in St. Mathews. The old Lobick church cemetary on #10 3/4 North of Readlyn.
His mother died at the farm home Dec. 28 1928, and the father Wm. Meihost died their Feb. 7, 1937 age 72. He was born in Holshausen Fuerstenthum Ger. Dec. 11, 1864, and came to America to Mitchell Co, Ia 1883 and to Bremer Co. in 1887. Married Anna Lau Jan 30 1896 The son Wm. was the eldest child of 8 children.
