
The Bremer County Commission on Veterans Affairs is currently accepting applications for the full-time, salaried position of Director/Administrator. The Director/Administrator acts as the lead advocate for veterans and their eligible beneficiaries and provides leadership and direction for all facets of the department’s daily operations. They’re tasked with assisting clients in the research, development, submission, and appeals of benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs, State of Iowa, Bremer County, and multiple other nonprofit and governmental agencies. Additionally, they provide direct supervision of staff and volunteers including hiring, discipline, on-site training, documentation review, and directs services to veterans and their dependents.
An Associates Degree in a related field and at least two years of experience working within Veterans Affairs, social work, business management, or a combination of education and experience to equal four years. Wage is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
